Job Overview:
Responsible for general cleaning and re-stocking of all areas of the bar. Maintain spotless guest service areas while creating a fun, upbeat atmosphere for our guests according to established standards and expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide friendly, courteous service to all Guests in a manner that guarantees they intend to return.
Communicate and establish report with Guest.
Make Guests happy by exceeding service expectations.
Notify a Manager of any Guest complaints or concerns.
Present food and beverages to Guest as soon as soon as they are prepared.
Possess full knowledge of food and beverage products served and utilize suggestive selling techniques.
Conduct final quality check on food before it is run to the Guest; maintain specifications by only serving items made properly.
Ensure a high standard of service efficiency, sanitation, and training.
Clean all spilled drinks, excess liquor, broken glass, and other debris in a timely fashion.
Ensure proper sanitation standards by maintaining cleanliness of bar, glassware, utensils, counters, and ashtrays.
Gather and clear all tableware soiled through use and deliver to Dishwasher.
Maintain all sanitizer buckers and towels.
Keep floor clean and free of debris.
Use and maintain all tools and equipment safely.
Complete required and ongoing training for the position.
Assist management in training new Staff Members within department, when applicable.
Prioritize and complete all assigned station task, side work, and station set up for maximum productively and efficiency.
Complete all opening, running, and closing duties.
Maintain adequate supply of ice, change empty kegs, BIB sodas boxes and sour mix.
Stock the bar with liquor, beer, wine, juices, mixes, glassware, utensils, cocktail napkins, fresh cut fruit, garnishes, etc.
Maintain adequate supplies of garnishes by cutting fruit on a regular basis.
Open all new glassware and stack for proper washing.
Clean and bar stock supply room.
Assist Bartender with cleaning and breakdown of bar at end of shift.
Maintain trash cans behind bar.
Assist Bartender with mixing or pouring drinks (if applicable).
Ask for help whenever it is needed.
Ensure a harassment-free environment through proper personal conduct.
Use respectful language with Guests, Staff Members, and Managers at all times.
Respond appropriately and calmly in emergency situations to avoid danger to self, Staff Members, and Guests; remain calm at all times.
Assist with inventory of all liquor and bar related supplies.
Notify a Manager of low inventory.
Understand, comply with, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
Adhere to responsible alcohol service established by company policy.
Understand and utilize all safety and sanitation practices as defined in the safety program; report any accidents.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or determined by Management.
Skills & Experience:
High school degree or GED preferred.
One year experience as a barback/bar porter or working in some aspect of the food and beverage industry (high-volume environment preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
Able to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
Able to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
Health permit/food safety and Alcohol Awareness. Staff Member is required to obtain cards individually and provide proof of possession prior to first day of employment subject to local laws (US only).
