Orlando Happenings: The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games

From June 5th to the 12th, the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games return to Orlando, uniting over 5,000 athletes and coaches from all 50 states and the Caribbean. Hosted by The Walt Disney Company at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, over 120,000 live spectators will celebrate the Special Olympic athletes’ remarkable talents on and off the field.

The Special Olympic athletes will compete in a variety of sporting events over 7 days. The events include everything from soccer, softball, and swimming to cheerleading, tennis, and so much more. (Check out the schedule here.)

The Special Olympics Games event is an opportunity to recognize each athlete’s dedication and perseverance as they share their gifts and passions with the world. Bringing even more magic to this wonderful event, Disney Live Entertainment is producing a fun-filled opening ceremony for the thousands of guests in attendance as well as bringing legendary entertainment all week long!
